Mitzie A. Byfield, is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and a Certified Nurse Mid-wife (CNM) with over 18 years of experience in Health Care including, but not limited to Pediatrics, Medical-Surgical, Labor & Delivery, and Newborn Nursery. Her training and experience spans across the territories of her native island of Jamaica, and includes her emigrating to the United States of America in 2005.

Mitzie is a graduate of the Kaplan and Frontier Nursing Universities where she earned her Bachelors’ and Masters’ Degrees in Nursing respectively.

Mitzie has been able to continue her self-less passion to the physiological and psychological component of labor and birth. She continues to be an advocate for mothers and families to have a voice in their respective birthing process.

As an APRN and CNM, Mitzie cares for women throughout their lifespan; and the best part of her day is seeing the faces of parents as they meet their newborns for the first time.
